Authentic learning model - for all generations

In the digital age, we are continuously surrounded by information through a variety of media and channels, and we can see the significant and quick changes happening all around us. Because of this, our brain must continually filter through information and “discard” any that is unnecessary. This process is known as forgetting.

The school can no longer impart “enough” knowledge for kids and young to be adequately prepared for the future. Since organizational processes and the workplace are no longer predictable or stable, it is inevitable that an individual will advance professionally through a variety of jobs and careers for which the educational system cannot provide information.

So, how to learn in the 21st century?

The most effective learning strategy is authentic learning, which is based on research, experimentation, and action. It is learning based on real experience, applicable in real life. Because of this, authentic learning is more significant than ever!

It is now more crucial to consider “HOW” than “WHAT” to learn in order to develop the abilities and mindsets required for both the present and the future. As a result, we base our education and development programs on real-world problems, experience, and the principle of “learning by doing”.

This puts all learned knowledge in a context that is relevant to the individual, makes it useful, and promotes the growth of innovative thinking that is based on creativity, critical thinking, social-emotional competence, and creative problem-solving.

CREATIVITY

People can be creative at any age. There are no small issues, insignificant thoughts, or trivial ideas. It is a universal human potential that has connections to all facets of life and work. We cultivate a creative mindset that is open to different perspectives. We reframe unique or preexisting ideas to fit the new context.

CRITICAL THINKING

Critical thinking is different from criticizing. It is essential to identify which facts are important in the ocean of diverse data, especially through digital media. The ability for rational thinking enables us to analyze, synthesize, and test hypotheses (own and other’s). This is the highest level of thinking that a person can develop.

SOCIAL AND EMOTIONAL COMPETENCE

Our capacity to accept ourselves and be accepted depends on our ability to adapt and fit into the world around us. Healthy collaboration and context awareness can significantly boost the influence we want to have.

PROBLEM-SOLVING

Problem-solving is a crucial element of authentic learning. All learned knowledge is placed in a context that is useful to the individual. We are putting our current limits to the test. Every mistake teaches us something new and broadens our perspectives.
